Promises with evidence

A brand promise without evidence is a liability, not an asset. This page exists so that every claim we make can be checked by somebody who does not trust us.

European linen at 165 grams in natural white. Warp and weft are clearly visible and the slubs run as thickenings through the weave.
Linen from Klässbols, 22.0 million kronor in turnover and 18 employees in 2025. They can handle a scarf, not a collection.
Egyptian cotton poplin 120/2 in bone white. The weave is dense and even, and the binding shows as light dots where the warp crosses the weft.
Organic cotton requires a GOTS or OCS licence number. Without the number we simply write cotton.
Vegetable-tanned leather in a warm brown tone. The grain forms irregular cells, the pores show as dark dots and a few creases run diagonally across the surface.
Vegetable-tanned leather for sole and hangtag. Animal content is declared.

The evidence table

No product is published for sale before the evidence for every claim is in place. That holds even when the evidence is dull or the result is worse than we hoped.

Claims we never make

Climate neutral. Carbon offset. Environmentally friendly. Green. Planet friendly.

The EU rules on environmental claims are tightening, and several of these words are on their way to being disallowed in consumer marketing. But that is not the main reason. The main reason is that they mean nothing, and a brand built on figures being checkable cannot use words that cannot be checked.

What actually costs us something

PFAS-free water repellency
Lasts a shorter time than the fluorine-based kind. We take the poorer performance and explain how to renew the treatment.
Sizes XXS to 4XL from the first order
More sizes means more capital tied up and more grading work per garment. It is the only inclusion effort that costs anything, and therefore the only one that counts.
European production
More expensive per garment than Asia. Justified by shorter lead times, lower minimum orders and the fact that we can visit the factory.
Hand-knotted fringe
Eleven minutes per scarf that no machine does more cheaply.
