Technology by Gaddr

The technology sits in the fibre

Gaddr Fashion is the technology partner: AI-driven design and pattern iteration, robotic manufacturing, smart textiles and 3D avatars for fit without sample garments. FRANS ANDRÉ is the brand. The division is deliberate, and it is meant to be visible.

Recycled polyamide in ripstop, meridian blue. A coarser grid of reinforcing threads lies over the fine filament weave.
Ripstop. The grid stops a tear from growing. The technology sits in the construction, not in a battery.
Merino twill at 17.5 micron in iron grey. The weave runs in diagonal ribs from the lower left corner towards the upper right.
Merino buffers temperature and holds odour less than synthetics. Passive textile, step one on the technology ladder.
The pattern Futura as woven fabric. Concentric half circles in charcoal with one saffron and one guacamaya-red arc, facing different ways in a chequered grid.
Futura. The pattern is generated from a script, exactly like the logotypes and the concept sheets.

The division of roles

This is the same model as Gore-Tex, Intel Inside and Dolby: ingredient branding. It strengthens both parties. FRANS ANDRÉ gains technical credibility, Gaddr gains a shop window that proves the technology works in the real world.

The technology ladder

Technology is added in three steps, not all at once. Step one requires no electronics at all, and therefore no CE marking, no battery and no electronics regulation. It gives ninety percent of the perceived benefit at five percent of the complexity.

Step three is where most small techwear brands have died. We go there last, and only if the garment works just as well without it.

StepContentWhen
1. Passive textileUPF protection, moisture transport, temperature-buffering fibre, odour neutrality without silver, crease resistance, PFAS-free water repellencyFrom day one
2. Digital identityQR or NFC in the label leading to a digital product passport, proof of authenticity, care instruction and resale valueFrom the New Year collection
3. Active electronicsHeat, sensors, chargingSecond half of 2027 at the earliest, and only if the business case holds

AI in the design process

Gaddr's AI is used for pattern iteration, colourway variants and technical pattern drafts, that is, for trying a hundred variants of the same idea in an afternoon instead of five in a week.

It is not used to replace the decision about what should be made. A pattern a model thinks is good but no human wants to wear is not a pattern, it is a picture.

All AI-generated imagery is marked as AI-generated, and every avatar is stated to be an avatar. That transparency is both a requirement under the EU AI Act and a precondition for a customer believing anything else we say.

3D fit without sample garments

Fit is developed in CLO3D against Gaddr's avatar library. The grading is verified on four body types per size before a physical sample is ordered, which cuts out roughly two of every three sampling rounds.

Sizes XXS to 4XL exist from the first order. It is not an effort we make a point of, it is simply what the grading is supposed to cover.
