Boiled wool felt, 5 millimetres, in pearl grey. The fibres have matted into a surface with no weave at all, with pills and fluff on top.

Egyptian cotton poplin 120/2 in bone white. The weave is dense and even, and the binding shows as light dots where the warp crosses the weft.
Cotton. Takes dye well, moves moisture less well once wet.
Merino twill at 17.5 micron in iron grey. The weave runs in diagonal ribs from the lower left corner towards the upper right.
Twill weave. The lining and the inside, where the fabric meets skin.

120/2 means a fine yarn, twisted. It gives a shirt that is smooth without being see-through and that improves with washing.

The collar has removable brass stays. They sit in the bag together with a spare button and a piece of the fabric for repairs.
