We drew the label first and read the rules afterwards. The label had to be redrawn. Here is what is actually required, in the order it affects how the label looks.
The fibre content
Regulation 1007/2011 governs. The fibre names have to be the ones in Annex I of the regulation, in descending order of weight, with percentages by weight adding up to a hundred. That means bamboo is called viscose and that vegan leather is not a permitted description.
If the garment is of a single material it is written as a hundred percent, pure or all. If it contains leather, fur, down, feather, horn or bone, the line about non-textile parts of animal origin has to be there.

The language
The label has to be in the official language of every country where the garment is sold. If we sell in Sweden, Germany and Spain, all three have to appear on the label. It is one of the things that decides how large the label becomes, so a question of form with a legal basis.
The producer details
The GPSR has applied since December 2024 and requires the manufacturer's name, postal address and electronic address, plus a type, batch or serial number. The same details have to appear on the product page before purchase, not only in the garment.
The care symbols, which we have not settled
Washtub, triangle, square, iron and circle in that order is the standard EN ISO 3758. The symbols are registered trademarks owned by GINETEX and normally require a licence. We have not verified the licence position for Sweden, and that is one of two questions that have to be answered before anything is printed.
